LOCAL MISSIONS

We believe that church missions begins inside our community.
God placed us in south Fort Wayne to love and serve our neighbors, and we want to invite you join us in reaching our city with the hope and love of Jesus.

Avalon Food Pantry

The Avalon Food Pantry exists to support people in our church and our surrounding community who find themselves in need or crisis. In doing so, we gain the privilege of sharing with them the love of Christ through thought, word, and action. Reach the Fort

Reach the Fort is our monthly outreach program that serves our city through various volunteer opportunities. We often partner with Community Harvest Food Bank, Lutheran Life Villages,  St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, and NeighborLink to name a few. FWCS Mentorship Program

Mentorship inside our schools provides an opportunity to encourage and to connect with students that are hungry for connection and authentic relationships.
Did you know Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) has a mentorship program where you can invest in students on a weekly basis?
Find out more at our upcoming event here or email our Family Life Pastor, Kodi Mullins, at kmullins@avalonmc.com for more information on how to become a mentor.

Avalon Youth Local Missions

Every summer Avalon Youth spends a week in July with Serve the Fort. This is a week-long local mission trip for our 6th-12th grade students to focus on service projects in the community while engaging and building relationships with the people and organizations they serve. This is all mixed in with worship, Bible study, and team building times. If you are interested in finding out more, stay tuned on the Avalon Youth page for details and follow Avalon Youth on Instagram at @AvalonYouth.
